Racism, Racism Everywhere!

Image
‘Racist’ is a common last-ditch argument point common among the liberals of today’s day and age. It’s overused, misused, and wholly misunderstood. Is racism a problem in today’s day and age? Well, let’s take a look at where the ideas of ‘race’ and ‘racism’ come from in the first place.  Our human nature makes it common for us to identify traits and problems based on the most outstanding physical feature rather than the underlying human. We can see a bunch of crime statistics that show that crime in black areas is way higher than crime in white areas and assume that, well, it’s because they have a higher melanin concentration that the crime rate is higher. The same thing happens when we see a group of bankers who are Jewish and evil; then, we assume they are evil bankers because they are Jewish and have big noses. When we take this approach, it leads to hating an entire grouping of people based on their physical characteristics or their ethnicity rather than their individual actions...

A Covenant of Blood

Image
The New Covenant. The Old Covenant. God’s covenant with Noah. God’s covenant with Abraham. Abraham’s covenant with Abimelech. Isaac’s covenant with Abimelech. Jacob’s covenant with Laban. A marriage covenant. We find most of those just in the Book of Genesis! God’s Word contains many covenants, many more than those listed here. The New King James Version of the Bible mentions the word “covenant” 313 times! We see several different types of covenants, too: alliances, resolving disputes, marriages, and covenants between God and man. Though we often read of covenants in the Bible, it ’s easy to read right over them without considering what they mean. So let’s spend a little time considering covenants. What, exactly, is a covenant? What does it accomplish? Scripture reveals that the primary purpose of a covenant is to bring two or more parties together into an agreement. A covenant is more than words; it’s a blood oath with the penalty of Divine judgment for breaking it. Cutting a C...

God's Hand and the Number 5

Image
Look down at your right hand. Now your left. What do you see? Now look at your right foot. And your left. What do you see? For most people, the answer will be five fingers on each hand, five toes on each foot. Of course, some folks may not have five digits, for reasons ranging from accidents to genetics, but most people on Planet Earth have five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot. Why? Remember, God made man in His image: “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them’” (Gen. 1:26-27). If humans have two hands with five fingers each and two feet with five toes each, and if humans are also made in the image of God, then it stands to reason that God also has two hands w...
